Part 2 - Images used in this website
General
Twist seeks to treat photographs on Twist web site as personal data when an individual is clearly identifiable. Twist's scrutiny of such images will be based upon how easily identifiable an individual is from the photograph as well as from related textual content. Consent is understood to include posing for a photograph when such potential use is known or reasonably expected, as well as verbal or written consent at the time or subsequently. Twist will make reasonable efforts to ensure that such consent has been obtained before use and where this is not possible will avoid use where it may reasonably be considered likely to cause the data subject damage or distress. Twist will also respond promptly to any subsequent request to remove a photograph from the web site by an individual who is clearly identifiable in that image. Such a request should be made to a member of the IT staff in the first instance at webmaster@twist.org.uk.
When taking pictures which may be used on the web or in other publications Twist's policy is to ask for the consent of any individuals who will be clearly identifiable. If consent is not given then photographs focusing on those individuals should not be taken. Where an individual who does not wish to give consent is a member of a larger group they should be allowed to leave the group while the photograph is taken. In the case of pictures provided to Twist by other sources (such as photographs provided by students or their schools) Twist will confirm with the provider of the images that any clearly identifiable individual has consented to such distribution.
At Twist functions where photographs may be taken Twist will attempt to notify all participants through distributed or posted material so that they are aware of the potential for and so that they know whom to contact if they do not wish to appear in such use. Similarly all Twist participants a guests will be notified that in the normal course of Twist events photographs may be taken which would be used on the web or in other publications. They should inform the person responsible for the relevant publication if they do not wish to appear in such photographs. In the case of the Web, staff at webmaster@twist.org.uk are the persons to inform.

In accordance with Twist’s Child Protection Policy, Twist employees will only work with children and young people under the age of 18 at the request and while under the care and control of the school, College or other institution that has legal responsibility for them in loco parentis (“responsible organisation”).
In addition to the photograph policy outlined in the previous section, photographs of children and young people under the age of 18 are only taken with the permission and in accordance with the policies of the responsible organisation and only displayed publicly (including on the website) where children and young people are not identified my name and when assured by someone from responsible organisation with the authority to give such an assurance that parental permission has been obtained. In the case of any photograph of a child or young person taken outside the context of the responsible organisation, Twist will directly obtain the consent of the parent or career before using it in public display.
If any parent, carer or responsible organisation wishes any photograph to be removed from public display, Twist undertakes to do this immediately on request. In the case of the Web, staff at webmaster@twist.org.uk are the persons to inform.
